Happy March, everyone! Here’s what I’ve been working on:
Submitting manuscript by Friday, March 19
I’m wrapping up edits on my final manuscript and planning to submit everything to copy editing by Friday, March 19. Going through edits has been no easy process. If I'm being honest, most of the time, I'm just sitting in front of my computer reading the same couple of sentences out loud over and over again. It's a really tedious process, but it's also awesome seeing how it has evolved!
Also side note for any New Girl fans out there: I'm most definitely Nick right now. If you haven't seen the show, Nick always talks about writing his first book and struggles with getting his thoughts on paper (and also procrastinates a ton haha). As Nick did in S7E3 Lilypads, I always joke that I need someone to punch me if I don't get my work done.
Drafting book covers
I’ll be sending out a poll later this month on potential book covers, so keep a look out for that. I've been working with an awesome paper artist to make the assets for my cover come to life. The assets are now with my cover designer! They'll send options soon :)
A sneak peek!
Take a peek at my INTRODUCTION! This chapter took me ages to write and edit. Writing an introduction is so daunting. On the one hand, no one ever usually reads the introduction ... on the other hand, the introduction sets the tone for the rest of the book. I'm feeling good about it now though! After hours hitting my head on a wall trying to figure out the hook, we did it!
Here's my AUTHOR’S NOTE. The author's note is just a quick summary of how the book came to be. I thought it was important to share a little bit more about me and my personal journey writing this book. Hope you enjoy! Also, please let me know if you’d like me to edit your name/ information in the acknowledgments.
Things are coming together! I can’t believe the book is coming out next month :) I’m also looking for people to give early praise quotes. Let me know if you’re interested, and I can send over a few chapters for review!
